In the tradition of Aesop and other fable-ists who came before him, Arnold Lobel wrote and illustrated his Fables. Starring adorable, quirky, vain, foolish, and wise animals, the tales are softened by the Lobelesque drawings. And the fables are original, with clever and sometimes dark twists.
The charming Lobel artwork and the funny fables make this perfect bedtime reading. There's really nothing not to love about this picture book. It's one Caldecott medal winner that truly hits the mark.
