The books in this section are usually hardcover and in decent condition, though we'll sometimes offer hard-to-find books in lesser condition at a reduced price. Though we often put images of the book with their original dust jackets, the copies here won't always (or even often) have them. If that is important to you, please call ahead or say so in the order comments!

The story of Robert Fulton is one of the most satisfying biographies that could possibly be written for children. Even as a boy Robert was busy inventing and experimenting and he was interested in finding some means of moving a boat through the water without sails or oars. Fulton was the inventor of the first successful "diving boat" which fired a torpedo. He looked upon the submarine as a "certain mode for destroying military navies and therefore establishing a perfect liberty of the seas."
