Originally written in French by Madam J. Colomb under the title Adventures de Trottino, this version was taken from Through the Farmyard Gate by Emilie Poulsson and was translated by Laura E. Poulsson. It is illustrated by L. J. Bridgman.
This book provides children with morally uplifting stories based upon the adventures of a rabbit named Trottino. In addition, detailed teaching suggestions are included at the end of the book, which provide instructions regarding how to bring out the biblical principles contained in the stories. This is a good book for parents to read to children ages four and older. It is also appropriate for students in the third grade to read on their own.
You can sometimes find this book under the title Lessons from the Farmyard, which is nearly identical to Trottino's Tale, but much less expensive.
