During one of his several adventurous voyages in the 1600's an English sailor becomes the sole survivor of a shipwreck and lives for nearly thirty years on a deserted island. This edition, featuring spectacular illustrations by renowned N. C.Wyeth, is one of the least edited of those meant for children, but concludes with Robinson Crusoe setting foot in England and eliminating the end of the book, during which he becomes wealthy, travels the continent, fights off wolves and becomes a family man!
Interestingly, the newer edition of Scribner's does not include the edits, and has the entire last section of the book!
