Though we often put images of the book with their original dust jackets, the copies here won't always (or even often) have them. The operas in this volume have been selected by Edward Johnson, General Manager of The Metropolitan Opera Association, Inc., as forming the basis of the Metropolitan repertory. While the entire list does not appear in the prospectus of any one season, nor include all the current novelties and revivals at the Metropolitan Opera House, it comprises operas which have all been produced at the Metropolitan and may, in his opinion, be considered standard.
