Reformation Covenant Church
RCC is our church, also in Oregon City, and is the reason we hope always to stay in this area. RCC has many things in common with other evangelical churches: we believe in justification by faith alone, original sin, the Virgin birth and the substitutionary blood atonement of Jesus Christ. We believe that God's word is infallible and inerrant in its original manuscripts. We strongly abhor sins such as the murder of pre-born infants (abortion) and sodomy (homosexual acts). We believe in the Trinity, and joyfully concur with the orthodox creeds and confessions of the early church. We believe in the importance of evangelism and world missions. But we also believe that to effect a true Biblical reformation in our day, the church in America must reexamine its positions on God's law and eschatology: the standard by which we are to live our lives (law), and our expectations for the future (eschatology). The Highlands Study Center exists to help Christians live more simple, separate, and deliberate lives to the glory of God and for the building of His kingdom. An agency that monitors worldwide persecution of Christians, is involved in helping Christians in bad situations, and produces a magazine that enables Christians to pray more directly and get involved where possible.

American Vision
Founded in 1978, American Vision, led by Gary DeMar and Ralph Barker, is a full service, nonprofit Christian ministry. Crux Press
Christian books and CDs often imitate the fluff of the world—lots of glitter and glamour with little, if any, real substance. Milk a plenty without a whole lot of meat from God’s Word. Crux Press publishes books and CDs that matter and they currently offer two titles that offer the meat of God’s Word to believers. The first title is Excused Absence: Should Christian Kids Leave Public Schools?, by Doug Wilson. Pactum Reformanda
Tim Gallant was the first author to write a book-length defense of paedo-communion in over a century (at least that we're aware of). Then, he self-published his book (Feed My Lambs) under the publishing name of Pactum Reformanda (Latin: "covenant or pact," & "reforming.") Tim now hopes to produce a line of works which are both scholarly and accessible to the layman. As the definitions above suggest, he is interested in promoting a rigorously biblical covenant theology.

Chartered in 1970, the Plymouth Rock Foundation seeks to preserve and propagate the Christian story of the Pilgrims and its effect on America's Heritage. It does this through a variety of publications, seminar sponsorships, historic tours, chartering local study groups or self-study courses, and other pertinent activities.

Presbyterian and Reformed Publishing
P&R Publishing is dedicated to publishing books that promote biblical understanding and godly living as summarized in the Westminster Confession and Catechisms. While we have minor disagreements with the confession, it remains one of the best the Church has ever written. As their vision fits with ours, we carry over 130 titles from P&R and can see only offering more.

Chalcedon's goal is to educate people in the Biblical standards for life, both individual and social. They believe there can be no solution to personal or societal problems other than those the Bible offers. World Magazine is much like Newsweek or Time Magazine, in that it publishes a weekly news magazine covering world events. It is different in that it is written from an informed Christian perspective. They believe in a God who tells the truth and wants them to do the same. World also publishes four mini-magazines for ages preschool-9th grade.

Basic Skills Assessment
Our next door neighbors! They offer a variety of services including testing, tutoring, and supplementary classes for home schooled students. They publish a very helpful list of essential learning objectives (ELO) for grades K-8 and a series of assessment tests based on those standards. Additionally, they help families prepare for a variety of standardized achievement tests by offering practice tests (called Achieving Peak Performance) that you can administer from home.

The Old Schoolhouse Magazine
The Old Schoolhouse Magazine is a Christian homeschool publication that is produced quarterly and mailed out to homeschooling families all over the world. Each 200-page issue is packed with articles and editorial columns covering different teaching styles, areas of study, current homeschooling issues and events, and encouraging articles from homeschool families. Noted authors are often featured in the magazine and on their website.

Titus2.com
The Steve and Teri Maxwell family website. They offer resources for Christian home school families, including a practical guide for daily scheduling, called Managers of Their Homes; a book called Preparing Sons to Provide for a Single-Income Family; and others. So far, we don't carry any of these, but hear they are good. They also have a number of encouraging articles on their site.

Classical Education - Bright Rock Press
Brightrock Press is currently a "mom and pop" publishing company. Claire and Peter Roise are mom and pop, authors, and draft editor and webmaster, respectively. Both are old friends who are putting together some solid materials for classical Christian education: texts on latin, logic, rhetoric, and more, as well as a planned series of children's story books about Church history.

Classical Education - Classical Academic Press
We discovered Classical Academic Press early in 2006, when we found their Latin program recommended in the Veritas catalog. It's a neat curriculum, offering a fun approach to Latin for kids 3rd grade and up. They are also developing programs for Greek, logic and Bible study. Their website is highly informative, and we are pleased to carry most of their products.

Classical Education - Logos School
Logos School, began by Doug Wilson, Shirley Quist, and Larry Lucas, opened in 1981 with the goal to provide high-quality Christian education for children. Ten years later, Doug Wilson wrote a book entitled Recovering the Lost Tools of Learning, which described the classical, Trivium model, as described by Dorothy Sayers in her 1940's article, The Lost Tools of Learning. Doug’s book produced so much interest in the classical approach that Logos helped form the Association of Classical, Christian Schools (ACCS), which offers conferences and practical assistance to help others form classical schools. Logos School sells many of its administrative and curriculum materials to sister schools, bookstores and other people around the United States, as well as having its staff train other teachers and administrators in summer training and other conferences.

Classical Education - Trivium Pursuit
Trivium Pursuit is the Bluedorn family business. Commited to home schooling since the early '70s, Harvie and Laurie Bluedorn began in 1989 to give seminars on teaching Latin, Greek, and Logic. In 2001 they arranged much of what they know and believe into a book called Teaching the Trivium. This book and their other materials help to describe and do a classical, very specifically Christian, method of education. Their entire family contributes to the business in various ways, and their sons have their own company called Christian Logic.

Classical Education - Veritas Press
These folks come from the "Classical" perspective, and have been producing a history program for a number of years They also offer a Bible program, a phonics program and a growing number of literature guides for titles that are generally not as well known. They also produce a fantastic printed catalog. Their recommended grade levels are quite advanced, so while you should feel free to strive for them, don't feel disheartened if you are not quite up to their standards!

Literature Approach - Robinson Curriculum
Art Robinson is a brilliant scientist, whose wife died shortly after they had several kids. Out of necessity, he designed a curriculum for them that could/would be pretty much self-taught, and it has proved successful for him and many other families. We think the format of this program is rather clunky, but it offers plenty of hard-to-find books. Be prepared to read everything on a computer screen or wear out at least one printer.

Literature Approach - Sonlight Curriculum
Sonlight's tagline is "Literature-Rich Homeschooling." They produce curriculum guides that help you use literature to educate all grade levels. While their pace is too demanding and their schedule is too structured for some, it works quite well for many families. They don't sell their products to bookstores, but they offer many items from other publishers, and we have many of the same.

Principle Approach - FACE
The mission of the Foundation for American Christian Education is "to publish and teach America's Christian history and method of education by Biblical principles to restore Christian self-government and character to the individual, to families, to churches, and to the nations." They publish Noah Webster's 1828 Dictionary, books by Verna Hall and Rosalie Slater, and the Noah Plan curriculum.    FACE serves individuals and organizations with resources and education, offering regional seminars in various locations, the Slater Institute to train teachers, consulting to schools and home educators, school-planting support, an educational Journal, study-group guides, Teacher Certification Program, and a catalog of various materials, books, tapes, and posters.

It is secular in worldview.    Calvert has been around since 1897, and offers an academically stimulating and accredited program that includes online activities. It also offers virtual classes and correspondence testing services for additional support.

At Gutenberg College, "education" hearkens back to an earlier and more universal definition—namely, the pursuit of wisdom and truth. Their goal is to challenge students to examine their beliefs, ask difficult questions, wrestle with their faith, and make it their own. Located in Eugene, Oregon.

Hillsdale College
Founded in 1844, Hillsdale College is an independent, liberal arts college with a student body of about 1,300 with a student-to-faculty ratio of 10-to-1. Hillsdale’s goal is comprised of two ideas: academic excellence and institutional independence. The College does not accept federal taxpayer subsidies for any of its operations. This fosters rigorous academics, intramural sports, and widespread community volunteerism which nurture intellectual, physical, social and personal growth. Located in rural southern Michigan, the nearly 200-acre Hillsdale campus includes both modern and historic buildings. While not publicly a Christian college, it is not antagonistic to Christianity. Many members of its faculty and a good number of the students are Christians. Hillsdale is perennially rated among the top 100 colleges by US News and World Report.

Character Training - Doorposts Publishing
John and Pam Forster began Doorposts Publishing with the mission to supply parents with Bible-based, parent-designed, family-tested products to help you apply Scripture in your home. Their material is not flashy, but it is solid, with careful Biblical study going into each product they create. The Forster family is a remarkable one, and we have greatly enjoyed getting to know them better over the years.

Character Training - No Greater Joy
Michael & Debi Pearl's site. Their book To Train Up a Child garners plenty of criticism from those who disagree with spanking (they say it advocates "child abuse"). While we can agree that the book is not perfect, it does describe methods to train (not abuse) children, and it has plenty practical advice to offer (which does include spanking). Debi's book for wives doesn't attract as much negativity, although she, too, sometimes offers "extreme" examples. But for the most part her book is right on and a delight to read.

Line of Promise Press
Line of Promise publishes the Covenental Catechism series, a progressive course of study of God’s covenantal redemptive revelation to His people. It covers from Genesis to Revelation in six books. The series is primarily designed fo ra church education or Sunday School program, but it is suitable for and used by homeschoolers. Harry Van Dyken wrote the series, and Donald, his son (an OPC pastor and author of Rediscovering Catechism), edited and publishes it.

The Nehemiah Institute is dedicated to restoring our nation to a biblically-based society as it once was.
