Going to Grandmother's house has never been such an adventure for Little Red Riding Hood. But when a wicked wolf interferes with things an adventure is what she can only expect. Happily a brave huntsman is around to save Little Red Riding Hood and her grandmother from becoming lunch. Beautiful illustrations cover every page of this familiar story.
Trina Schart Hyman's retelling of a classic Grimms fairy tale will be, we believe, a classic in its own right. This edition of the story has beautiful illustrations that portray an old world culture, and an added moral at the end of the book that is rarely seen (Elisabeth should have kept her promise and been obedient!). It is not "PG"—the hunter kills the wolf, and then there is a celebration that portrays the grandmother actually drinking a glass of wine. All in all, we like this version a lot!
