N.D. Wilson, author of the popular 100 Cupboards trilogy, has released the first book in The Ashtown Burials—his new series. It's sort of a cross between Indiana Jones, C.S. Lewis' That Hideous Strength and H.G. Wells' Island of Dr. Moreau—definitely bizarre, but extremely imaginative. Not for everyone, and we recommend it primarily for ages 12 & up, but if you'd like to explore a completely new world, check this out!

Famous now the world over as the creator of comic strip character Tintin, Herge himself lived quite the life. Born in 1907, he was directly affected by both World Wars, the rise of Fascism, the post-war period, and the spread of Communism—all of which affected his art in pragmatic and visceral ways. As a full-blown Tintin movie directed by Steven Spielberg comes out in December, we are celebrating his life with specials on his books.
