Building Her House

Commonsensical Wisdom for Christian Women

by Nancy Ann Wilson
Publisher: Canon Press
Trade Paperback, 113 pages
Price: $12.00

For fourteen years, Nancy Wilson has been giving practical advice to Christian women in her "Femina" column in Credenda Agenda. Now she has collected twenty-six of these columns into one convenient volume, addressing a wide array of topics, including feasting as a family, enjoying stories, dealing with in-laws, raising boys and girls, watching "chick flicks," and many more. Written in an understanding, conversational style, these essays provide a wealth of down-to-earth wisdom for Christian women.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book the first time, and several times since!
Her style is friendly and easy to read. The chapters are short and sweet, easy to get in within one sitting - which is nice for a busy mother!
Topics include in-law relationships (both for mothers and for daughters), giving birth (I appreciated her admonition that as born-again followers of Christ it's NOT OK to think that during labor you're going to be out of control), the family table, boys and sports, and many others.
It has been encouraging to me as a wife and mother, since building my house is what I do!
