For starters, any game playable by4-20 players has to be pretty awesome.

Imagine winning a trivia match when you don't know the answers to any of the questions. Wits & Wagers is exactly that game, pitting players' intuition rather than their knowledge against each other.

Every question has a numeric answer--for instance, "How many yards wide is a football field?" can be answered with numerals. Each player writes their answer on a slip ofpaper which is put on a green betting field. You might not have a clue what the answer is and write something ludicrous like 3, but if Uncle Rico is playing you know he knows how wide a football field is, so you bet on his answer.

This is more of a betting game than a trivia game, really. You can bluff, you can bet on your own answer, you can read players to determine whether they know what they're talking about.Wits & Wagersis an awesome party game.

You could conceivably get pretty devious. If you know the answer to a question, and you know someone else knows the answer, you could write the wrong answer because you know people will vote for yours, and then vote for the other guy's yourself. Such scuzzy tactics are frowned upon in polite society and the business world, but Wits & Wagers is an amazing alernative reality where you can behave like a Machiavellian wacko with few if any consequences. (Of course, your wife might not talk to you for a week afterward, but that might not be entirely a bad thing, either.)

Really, though, this game is really super incredibly fun. It makes a good family game, too, though players will likely know each other well enough that some of the risky elements are lost in play. And just remember that Uncle Rico will be thinking in terms of a high school football field, not a professional field. That might or might not be important.

Wits & Wagers has already won 20 industry awards:

Trivia Game for People Who Don't Like Trivia G
Joseph F. of Oregon, 7/25/2012
This is one of my favorite party games, especially for mixed age groups. You don't really need to know the minutia typical of trivia games to do really well at this game. You just need to guess correctly who does know the minutia on the particular topic you are on.
All questions are answerable with numbers. Each round, players secretly write down their best guess on a tablet, then the guesses are arranged from smallest to largest. Then you place wagers on who you think is closest without going over the exact number. So if I don't have a clue on this Star Trek question, I'll do pretty good to bet on my father-in-law, but I might steer clear of his guess popular movies today!
I'm a younger guy (20's), and I find this game plays really well with mixed age groups. Older and younger people together. This can really handle any amount of people too. Great game!
