Sue Maakestad

Sue Maakestad is a homechooling mother and author of works that help others with homeschooling. Mrs. Maakestad, along with her husband of thirty-one years, Chis, have homeschooled their eight children from their infancy through high-school, when each, at about age fifteen, entered college, though Mrs. Maakestad herself recieved no high-school diploma. All of the Maakestad children have now graduated from college, are employed, and/or are married. Having appeared as the featured speaker at the Spring 2003 Bay Area Convention of Christian Home Education Association (CHEA), Mrs. Maakestad currently lectures upon request at homeschool conventions.

She is the author of a book that deals with helping parents with educating their children, which is subtitled, "A Survivor's Guide to Giving Your Kids a Quality Education," and she was a contributing author to One True Vow, an anthology about marriage. She has written articles for both the Home Education Magazine and the Arizona Families for Home Education Journal, and she and her husband now edit a quarterly Christian parenting publication, known as Bull's Eye, for their home church of twenty years.
