Sibyl Hancock has written several children's books, including Mario's Mystery Machine and The Blazing Hills, for Putnam's. She lives in Houston, Texas, where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Houston. Besides being a juvenile book critic for the Houston Chronicle and a member of several writers' groups, Ms. Hancock is an amateur astronomer and enjoys collecting old children's books.
