The Westminster Shorter Catechism, a series of 107 questions and answers, was written during the mid-1600s to instruct children about the Christian faith. Now, many adults know less than the children of that time did and the teaching found in the Shorter Catechism is more valuable than ever. When Thomas Vincent (1634-1678), a Puritan pastor, first published his 'explanation' in 1674, John Owen, Thomas Watson and 38 others declared their belief that it 'would be greatly useful to all Christians in general.'
