The books in this section are usually hardcover and in decent shape, though we'll sometimes offer hard-to-find books in lesser condition at a reduced price. Though we often put images of the book with their original dust jackets, the copies here won't always (or even often) have them. Captain January is an 1890 children's novel, about a lighthouse keeper and his adopted daughter, written by Laura E. Richards.

The Little Colonel: An old-fashioned Southern colonel has disowned his daughter for marrying a Yankee and resists all entreaties for a reconciliation until he succumbs to the charms of his little granddaughter. During the early part of the 20th century the Little Colonel series was the most popular series for children. Published in 1895, this is the first in the series of books about Lloyd Sherman, the Little Colonel.

This volume contains the full text of the novels illustrated by stills from the film adaptations starring Shirley Temple.
