"My business with you is urgent," said the elderly sea serpent as he surfaced alongside the authors' sailboat. The surprise and intense interest shown above by the Darlings is certain to be shared in full by all who delve into the extraordinary document herewith.
When the sea serpent chose Lois and Louis Darling as his spokesmen, he exhibited his fine discrimination. The Darlings have been writing and illustrating both children's books and adult books for many years. They have done a great deal of research, with the guidance of their sea serpent friend, to make their illustrations accurate.
In order that we might present the reader with further evidence of the fact that sea serpents do exist, we wish to quote the following article from The Times of London, December 9, 1933, "Case for the Sea Serpent" by Lieutenant Commander R. T. Gould, RN (ret.): "There can, at all events, be little question that Loch Ness contains at least one specimen of the rarest and least-known of all living creatures. Unless it comes and goes—as it may do it has been there some years; I have first-hand evidence of its having been seen in 1932 and 1931, as well as second-hand accounts of several earlier appearances."
