We have rarely been so consistently impressed with the quality of a series as we are with Scribner's Illustrated Classics. From the 1920s on, every book is beautifully typeset, illustrated and bound. Their newest editions are no exception, with eleven currently in print. The earliest Scribners Illustrated Classics we've personally seen is Howard Pyle's Robin Hood from 1923, though most of the copies we sell here are either the newest editions or those from the 80s and 90s. Nearly all have illustrations by the inestimable N. C. Wyeth, but the illustrations in Arabian Nights by Maxfield Parrish don't disappoint and Trina Schart Hyman's art in Peter Pan is stunning!
