The books in this section are usually hardcover and in decent condition, though we'll sometimes offer hard-to-find books in lesser condition at a reduced price. Though we often put images of the book with their original dust jackets, the copies here won't always (or even often) have them. If that is important to you, please call ahead or say so in the order comments!

This book is not another child's "garden" of verse. Sally Go Round the Sun is a new kind of song and games book, a generous collection of sandlot, street-corner, playroom poetry that will delight youngsters and tickle an adult's nostalgia. It presents, for the first time, three hundred singing games, skipping and ball-bouncing rhymes, taunts, teases and silly songs.

The book is ideal for children's parties there are simple directions for playing the games; tunes and guitar chords are provided for seventy-nine items; full plano accompaniments are given for twenty-five songs. Many of the verses can be sung to the familiar tunes indicated with each title. With pages fetchingly illustrated in bright colors, and all the verses in easy-to-read type, the book can keep a child occupied for hours.

A glance at the full index of first lines ("Georgie, Porgie, pudding and pie," "Polly put the kettle on," "While shepherds washed their socks by night") is a quick flight to childhood fantasy; and the inclusion of harmless crudities and saucy gibes common to every child's repertoire make the book an interesting reference for any child psychologist, amateur or professional.
