Focusing on science, Rogland graduated from the University of Washington with a bachelor's of science degree in chemistry. He then pursued a master's degree in natural science and an doctorate in science education from Harvard. An elder at Faith Presbyterian Church in Tacoma, Washington, Rogland teaches science and calculus at a Christian high school, Covenant High School in Tacoma, WA. An author as well, Rogland has penned articles, a Bible study guided on Romans, a children's book called Pinocchio's Quest, and a ninth grade science text book called The Created World.
