There’s a strange spotted creature visiting the zoo. But he doesn’t just want to visit. He wants to live in the zoo! Unfortunately, the zoo keepers will not allow him to live there. But when he meets up with a sympathetic audience of two curious children, he demonstrates a fantastic repertoire of tricks, hoping that this will help convince the children that he belongs in the zoo. The children, however, disagree, and find a much better outlet for this large friendly creature’s remarkable abilities. Told engagingly in rhyme, this kooky early reader belongs on the same shelf as Cat in the Hat.
