Fall 2014 - Remodel Clearance

It's been a crazy summer here at Exodus. With our busiest summer ever, our 2nd Annual (and expanding) Summer Reading Program, adding an entire new room to our store, and all with a smaller crew than in years past, we are left a disheveled mess. But alas, there is no rest for the independent bookstore employees. In the months to come, we have to do some minor construction, paint, and install flooring & lighting in the new room. Then we're planning on rearranging a large chunk of the store. That's on top of managing day-to-day business and writing more book and curriculum reviews!

Many of you have volunteered to help us in the past, and we can sure use it! If you are interested in painting, know how to lay flooring or install lighting, or want to help us move shelving and books in the months to come, THIS is the time that volunteers would be most needed! Please call or email us if you would like to be involved!

Fall Clearance!

In the meantime, we are trying to raise funds! So we are selling hundreds of books cheap to raise money for the remodeling of our new room. Everything $4 or less—much of it $.50-$1. We'll start recycling some of it as of October 15th. This stuff is NOT online (you'll have to come visit us) but we do have some clearance online as well. That can be found here.

Amazing historical documents library—FREE!

We'd love to find a college or university that would like this, but anyone who really wants it can take it off our hands. This is a microprint library of pretty much everything published in the U.S. from about 1640-1800. Red boxes are the books, blue boxes are periodicals and newspapers. (Technical names of the collections are Early American Imprints Series I & Series II.) The library comes with a several-volume hardcover index and appropriately-sized gorilla shelving to store it on. You must also take the six Readex Microprint readers!

We know this content can be obtained digitally at this point, but we're hoping someone out there would like the option to use it without paying subscription fees. Unfortunately, we are not in a position to store it long-term.

If you are interested, keep in mind there is A LOT and it will probably require the equivalent of a 15 passenger van to haul away. First come, first served and it has to go by October 31st!
