After earning her bachelor's degree in education from California State University in 1962, Martin became a science teacher and taught for 35 years in elementary and junior high schools. In 1995 she earned her master's degree in education and science from Western Oregon University, and a couple years later she retired from teaching to begin a family-owned science business. Ring of Fire Science Company provides quality science materials for teachers and homeschooling families. Martin has penned the content for these science textbooks and included many hands-on experiments to further engage the learners.
Over the years Martin has written almost 30 books, and in 2007, she was awarded the Professional of the Year for Science Textbook Publishing from Cambridge Who's Who. This award-winning author is also a science consultant who conducts workshops to promote her love and deep understanding of science. She lives and works from her home in Oregon.
