The books in this section are usually hardcover and in decent condition, though we'll sometimes offer hard-to-find books in lesser condition at a reduced price. Though we often put images of the book with their original dust jackets, the copies here won't always (or even often) have them. If that is important to you, please call ahead or say so in the order comments!
This book completes a series of three in which Patrick Lynch tells the story of the world to young readers.
FROM THE BEGINNING describes the origin of the world, its prehistoric inhabitants, and the arrival of man.
FROM THE CAVE TO THE CITY tells of man's early struggles to overcome his environment and of the civilisations of Mesopotamia and Egypt.
ΜΑΝ MAKES HIS WORLD is a survey of man's subsequent development; it is primarily a story of human achievement, which shows how greatly the discoveries and inventions of the past affect our lives today.
Each of these three books has the same important features – a coloured time chart on which events discussed in the text can be seen in their chronological sequence; a glossary in which technical terms printed in capitals in the text are clearly explained; and lavish illustrations in colour and black and white by David Chalmers.
