Magician's Nephew

Magician's Nephew

Chronicles of Narnia Book 1
by C. S. Lewis
Publisher: HarperCollins
Mass market paperback, 221 pages
Price: $8.99

This is the sixth book that Lewis wrote in his acclaimed Chronicles of Narnia series, but chronologically, it is the first title.

Digory and Polly meet and become friends one cold, wet summer in London. Their lives burst into adventure when Digory's Uncle Andrew, who thinks he is a magician, sends them hurtling to . . . somewhere else. They find their way to Narnia, newborn from the Lion's song, and encounter the evil sorceress Jadis, before they finally return home.

  The Magician's Nephew
Noah W. of Hillsboro, OR, 8/21/2016
The Magician's Nephew is the first of seven books in the Narnia series. It tells the story of Digory Kirke and Polly Plummer who discover how to travel between worlds with magic rings. They accidentally cause the destruction of Charn and witness the creation of Narnia by Aslan, the great lion. An evil comes into Narnia in the form of a witch escaped from Charn and Polly and Digory must protect Narnia from her. This book is a (very) loose allegory of the creation of the world. It is an enthralling book and one of my favorites.
