The Magic School Bus Lost in the Solar System

This is another wacky book about Ms. Frizzle and her unpredictable school bus. Join this energetic teacher and her hesitant class on a thrilling field trip through our solar system. The trip will be smooth until Ms. Frizzle becomes separated from the class and they will have to continue their journey without her. My favorite part is that on each new planet the bus visits, Arnold, one of the students, weighs more or less than he did on the last planet. The Magic School Bus Series offers an opportunity for the reader to learn interesting facts while enjoying an action-packed story.

Topic: planets, the solar system, and a couple of "billions of years" throw away lines. Five stars because I've never found anything more useful for learning the about solar system, especially on this kid-friendly level.

Illustrations: Not QUITE as cool as the real thing, but still very fun and imaginative.

Age appropriate: for basically anyone, but ideal to read curled up with flashlight in a windowsill.

my experience: I actually looked up one of these in college for a paper because I found the topic boring and wanted an entertaining way to cement volcanic activity in my head before a test. Great series!!
