by Johannah Bluedorn
Publisher: Trivium Pursuit
Board Book, 28 pages
Price: $12.00

Trivium Pursuit presents their second in the Little Bitty Baby Board Book series — Little Bitty Baby Learns Greek. And, yes, little children can learn the Greek alphabet, which is the very first baby step in mastering the language.

Using 27 original illustrations, writer/illustrator Johannah Bluedorn offers a pictorial lesson in learning the Greek alphabet. Each Greek letter is introduced on a separate page of the board book. The sound of each letter is taught with an English guide word and a corresponding picture.

Perhaps this Little Bitty Baby Board Book will inspire even the tiniest tots to pursue further study of the Greek language.

I used this book with my daughter this past year for first grade work. I wanted her to become familiar with the concept that other languages sometimes have different alphabets, and this was a great start. The illustrations helped reinforce the sounds, and the pronunciation guide helped me know how to actually say the letter's name. My only previous experience with Greek letters was in college with sororities and fraternities, proving that this book is a nice start for those with no Greek background.
We will be using the Little Bitty Baby Learns Hebrew this year and looking forward to it!
