Leonard Wibberley

Leonard Wibberley

Leonard Wibberley, author of The Mouse That Roared, was born in Ireland and steeped early in the wit of the Gaelic. In fact it was the only language he had until he was sent to school in England at the close of the Irish Rebellion. Later he worked as apprentice to a London publisher, then became copy boy on the Sunday Dispatch. He has been in the newspaper business ever since, except for a stint in the streets playing violin. At present he lives in California with his wife and three children, and is on the staff of the Los Angeles Times.
