The books in this section are usually hardcover and in decent condition, though we'll sometimes offer hard-to-find books in lesser condition at a reduced price. Though we often put images of the book with their original dust jackets, the copies here won't always (or even often) have them. If that is important to you, please call ahead or say so in the order comments!

Scan is of this copy.  Dust jacket is in fair condition, chunk missing from spine and another from the back cover.  The book itself is good, but has age spotting and soiled edges.  It has some wear but the binding is solid with hinges intact.

From the dust jacket:

"Buffalo Bill" scout, path-finder, hunter and Indian fighter is the most famous of all that great company of frontiersmen who opened up the West for civilization. Indeed no character in history makes a stronger appeal to the imagination than this daring hero of the old West.

The great man's sister writes here the whole story of his long career of adventure and daring. How he earned his sobriquet – "Bill"; how he made admiring friends of Custer, Sheridan and the other great fighters of his day. How he later gathered together a company of plainsmen, cowboys, Indians, and horses and organized the famous Wild West Show. How he took this magnificent exhibition of the "Wild and Wooly West" he knew so well, all over Europe and gave command performances before the royalty of nearly every country. The Queen of England twice "requested" performances. And in America no audiences were more enthusiastic than those in the Great West itself – so rapidly becoming "civilized", so busy building great cities in that rich country Buffalo Bill had done so much to open up for them.

Zane Grey has written a foreword and conclusion to this thrilling and true account of the last of the great scouts –  his tribute to Colonel William F. Cody, known the world over as "Buffalo Bill".
