  Lots of Pockets

Katy didn't have a pocket to carry her baby. In the end she ended up with lots of pockets to carry not only her baby, but lots of other animals too!!
No Pocket for Her Baby! So Sad!
Samara of Washington, 7/28/2011
Children will instantly engage with Katy Kangaroo and her baby, Freddy. Katy has no pocket like the other kangaroo mothers and this brings up some problems for her and her baby. Katy asks several other animal mommies for advice. Can she carry her baby like a crocodile? Or like a monkey? Each animal is different and Katy's body isn't designed like any of the other animals. She needs to have a pocket. She ends up finding LOTS of pockets!
Interesting, original idea, great illustrations. Entertaining even for the adults who will read it over (and over, and over) again.

This was written in the 1940's and introduces some words and phrases that we don't use (much) any more: "hasn't," "terrific thump," "oh do, please," and "automobiles".
