The hero of this story accompanies the family of a French marquis to Paris during the Revolution. Imprisonment and death reduce their number, and he finds himself beset with perils and the three young daughters of the house in his charge. After hairbreadth escapes they reach Nantes, where the girls are captured and condemned to death in the coffin ships, but are saved by the unfailing courage of their boy-protector.
