The books in this section are usually hardcover and in decent condition, though we'll sometimes offer hard-to-find books in lesser condition at a reduced price. Though we often put images of the book with their original dust jackets, the copies here won't always (or even often) have them. If that is important to you, please call ahead or say so in the order comments!

This book completes the story of Gerbault's west-about circumnavigation which he began in The Fight of the Firecrest. Even now not many men have sailed single-handed round the world, and when Gerbault made his voyage, over thirty years ago, he did not have the benefit of the experience of all those who alone or in company have since followed his example. His book therefore remains for all time the plain story of an epic voyage.

"In this wonderful book the whole spirit of the single-handed sailor, the whole secret of all those who go aroving the world solitary and alone is revealed. It is a great work. I say most emphatically that In Quest of the Sun is a book to be read not only by yachtsmen but by all who are interested in the problems of civilisation."
