Game Books

There are two kinds of game books—those that teach you how to play games you don't know, and those that train you to play the games you do know better. Books in the first group usually include Victorian-style illustrations and instructions for basic games like tag and hide-and-seek that have been given more glorious names like Fox and Hounds or Kick the Can. Books of the second variety are about chess or poker.

So maybe that's a generalization, but there are a lot of books about chess and poker, and a few books about physically-intensive activities from the old days which you probably don't need instructions for. Because we want to provide useful books to our beloved customers, we're avoiding many titles of this kind and choosing to grow this section slowly. We still have quite a few chess books, though.

Review by C. Hollis Crossman
C. Hollis Crossman used to be a child. Now he's a husband and father who loves church, good food, and weird stuff. He might be a mythical creature, but he's definitely not a centaur. Read more of his reviews here.
