Books are something integral to our family culture
and we want our son to see us reading often. Joshua is coming up on
his first birthday and as that one year mark approaches, we’ve been
reevaluating, rethinking, and getting refocused. What kind of family
do we want him to grow up in? We certainly don’t want him to see us
gravitating toward a movie whenever “there’s nothing to do.” So the
TV has a new home—the closet—and as this year progresses we’d like
to fill the hours vacated by movies with time spent playing games,
working, exercising, as well as reading. Life is short and there’s
too much to do to spend it all watching actors live imagined ones.
Below is the list of books that we read (or had hoped to read) in 2007. We didn't manage to
write reviews for most of them like we'd planned, but we do have
thoughts about them!
