This college-prep physics course is designed for the student who has some experience with trigonometry. If you are a Saxon user, all that the student needs to know is covered in Saxon Algebra 2. Exploring Creation With Physics provides a detailed introduction to the methods and concepts of general physics. Heavily emphasizing vector analysis, this text is ideal preparation for a university-level physics course. It provides the student with a strong background in units, measurement, one-dimensional and two-dimensional motion, Newton's laws and their application, gravity, work and energy, momentum, periodic motion, waves, optics, electrostatics, electrodynamics, electrical circuits, and magnetism.
Prerequisites: In order to be able to understand this text, the student needs to be comfortable with the sine, cosine, and tangent functions along with their inverses. These concepts are covered in Saxon's Algebra 2 course. Most other math series actually have a 1-semester course called "trigonometry." We recommend that the student take chemistry before physics. Physics is the toughest science, so the student should have plenty of science experience before trying to tackle it.
This kit is comprised of three pieces. The hardbound text contains all student material, on-your-own questions and solutions, laboratory exercises, and chapter study guides. The Solutions and tests Manual, softbound, offers the answers to chapter study guides, tests, and test solutions. The third piece is the CD-ROM companion, which includes videos of some of the experiments, animations, and pronunciations of previously unknown words.
