This game has several names (some more questionable than others). In this version, Slamwich is a race to see who can whack stacks of cards fastest. The caveats make each round fun—you can only slap the stack when trigger cards are played, slapping the stack too early results in a penalty, and muncher and thief cards threaten to steal what you've worked hard to build.
And what you've built is a sandwich. Each card (except thief and muncher cards) looks like a piece of bread, a slice of tomato, some jelly, etc., and players make sandwiches by laying cards between them as quick as they can. When it's time, they slam the stack. Parents may worry they'll cream the kiddos, but don't fool yourselves—you're getting old and they're just getting started.
An interesting variant makes the winner eat the last sandwich he takes. This isn't found in the Slamwich rules and probably classifies as one of those "don't try this at home" things, but it's a great way to punish success. Otherwise, play the regular way, and keep violent Slamwiching to a minimum.

C. Hollis Crossman used to be a child. Now he's a husband and father who loves church, good food, and weird stuff. He might be a mythical creature, but he's definitely not a centaur. Read more of his reviews
