Harriet doesn’t mean to be pesky. She just is. She spills jam all over her jeans and drips paint on the carpet and pulls the table cloth off with along with all the lunch. She’s always sorry, and she always means it.
Harriet’s mother doesn’t like to yell. But at the end of the day when the pillow gets ripped open and goose feathers fly everywhere, Harriet’s mother yells. And yells. She doesn’t mean to. She just does. But even though Harriet and her mom do things they don’t mean to sometimes, they know they both still love each other.
