Frequently Asked Questions:
What are your hours? Our hours are: 10am-5pm Monday through Friday & 9am-1pm Saturday. We try to post any changes in advance on the homepage of this website.
How do we find you? A map with directions may be found on our Map & Directions page. MapQuest is not that helpful for finding our location.
When do you buy books? We buy books Tuesday through Friday, during normal hours. We DO NOT buy books Mondays and Saturdays. The book buyer is only sporadically around on those days. Please see our book buying policy for more information, and watch our home page for important announcements about the availability of this service.
What do you carry? We carry approximately 6000 new titles in stock, and our entire new catalog is listed on this site. It's easy to browse in a variety of ways, and it's searchable by title, author, publisher, ISBN, and even, to a degree, keywords. You may also use our Custom Catalog Browser to narrow down books by grade, subject and topic at the same time. We also have a full room of used materials. Only some of those are inventoried on-line, so feel free to call and see if we have what you're looking for.
Do you have a print catalog? We started off with a print catalog, but we haven’t printed one since 2002. It was 140 pages and offered about 2,600 titles. You can imagine its content is quite out of date! Since this website has the space to offer expanded descriptions, is searchable in so many more ways, has color pictures, and we have the options to add author biographies, product samples, and book reviews—plus it’s available to a much bigger audience and is far cheaper to update!—we’ve decided to focus our time, effort and money here. We hope to create another print catalog eventually, but don’t have any immediate plans to do so.
Do you ship materials? Of course! And we have a very reasonable economy shipping charge of $3.50, for any size order, sent usually through USPS Media anywhere in the continental 48 states. We also ship to Alaska, Hawaii (using USPS Priority), and to other countries. You may choose other shipping methods on our order form, if you are willing to pay more and wish a faster or trackable method.
How do I order? Using our online bookbag is fairly simple, and is explained here. If you would prefer to mail your order we have a printable order form which you may use to make payment by check or money order.
Do you offer any discounts? Some companies ask that we not discount their materials, and we honor their request (check our store policies for a short list of these vendors). For most other items, however, we allow bulk discounts of: 10% off 5-9 copies of one title 15% off 10-49 copies of one title (usually non-returnable) Discounts will vary on 50 or more copies of a title. How long may I return an item? Our basic policy is 30 days. Please see our return policy for more information.
I'm looking to start home schooling. Where do I begin? Though we won't yet answer all your questions on this site, our getting started page is a good place to start.
Do you have any used A Beka, Bob Jones or Saxon Math in stock? We get asked for particular items so often that we inventory those publishers twice a week. You can browse our used inventory here.
