Our hero, Mark Thorndyke, pursues his father's killer through England and English society. The apparent curse placed upon the possessor of a lost bracelet, first upon John Thorndyke and then upon his son, is finally unraveled, the "curse" is lifted, and Mark marries his intended cousin Millicent.
