In Challenge II, students study Western ideas focusing on European and cultural studies. British literature, Latin II, traditional logic, advanced algebra, Western cultural history, American drama, and biology provide a well-rounded Academic core. Valuable laboratory experiences and oral presentations are tackled in the group community setting. Advances in language skills, writing, science, rhetoric, and logic continue as Challenge II moves into a more rhetorical format than earlier challenges. Essay skills are expanded and polished. Previous research skills are sharpened, resulting in compiled notebooks for both science and history. The students learn and practice new types of rhetorical skills including dramatic interpretation and lecture formats. Group discussions and projects gain added importance at this level.
