Math LightUnit 701 tests and reviews concepts that should have been mastered in sixth grade to verify readiness for the Math 700 level.
The remaining LightUnits introduce new skills and concepts in incremental, continuously reviewed steps. This course teaches the metric system simultaneously with the U.S. system of measurement.
Math 700 themes, one distinct theme per LightUnit, are based on Christian occupations and a Biblical worldview of business, family, and personal finances. This practical emphasis on realistic problem-solving is balanced with continued advancement in geometry and pre-algebra.
This grade assumes student proficiency in the basic facts and the four mathematical operations, but still provides daily practice to keep skills fresh, along with mastery drills on geometry formulas, definitions, and other math facts.
The Teacher's Guides give teaching tips, extra practice, solutions, LightUnit answers, and alternate LightUnit tests. Answer keys are optional if the Teacher's Guides are purchased.
