After earning his Ph.D. in physical chemistry from Iowa State University, Thaxton went on to finish two post-doctoral programs from Harvard University and from Brandeis University. Interested in the origins of life, he studies the relationship between science and Christianity. An editor, contributor, and author of articles, Thaxton has also seen two books published,
The Mystery of Life's Origins and
The Soul of Science. A Fellow of the Discovery Institute's Center for Science and Culture, Thaxton has survived cancer twice, living now with one leg and one lung. Remaining active, he lectures widely, is working on two more books, and teaches history, economics, and ethics at the KONOS Academy he and his wife Carole co-founded in Georgia.
