Carolyn Strom Collins

A native of Union, South Carolina, Carolyn Strom Collins is the daughter of Samuel T. Strom and the late Martha Strom. Following her high school graduation, Carolyn earned her undergraduate degree at Sanford University in Birmingham, Alabama, and her Master of Library Science degree at the University of Minnesota.

She married Andrew Collins, with whom she has two grown children. Her son Drew is on the faculty of Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois, and her daughter Caroline is a production stylist for TM commercials in St. Paul. She currently resides in St. Paul.

Carolyn is the author of ten books, including a children's craft book and nine books in the companion book genre. Concentrating on children's literature, Carolyn has researched the author, era, setting and customs in such classic works as Little Women, Little House on the Prairie, and Anne of Green Gables. Her latest publication from HarperCollins is Inside the Secret Garden, featuring the illustrations of Tasha Tudor and Mary Collier.

The Collins' summer home on Prince Edward Island, Canada, is located near the Lucy Maud Montgomery Museum, and Carolyn frequently conducts Anne of Green Gables events for museum visitors.
