In 1974 the Oregon Historical Society put together an exhibit featuring items from the various voyages of Captain James Cook. This handsome volume bound in blue cloth in a red slipcase is the exhibition catalog. It contains 3 essays about Captain Cook and his voyages to complement the various black and white pictures and four color plates of many of the items featured in the exhibition, which came from museum and private collections around the world, including Australia, Great Britain, New Zealand, the U.S.S.R., Canada and Ireland as well as the United States.
