Taro does nothing but sleep all day. His mother works hard all day making kimonos, and is fed up with Taro’s laziness. Though he is lazy, Taro is also clever, and devises a get-rich-quick scheme that will get him the life of the wealthy. But his mother has a trick up her sleeve that just might turn her lazy son into a honest man.
