BFB U.S. & World History for Sr. High

In 2015, Beautiful Feet replaced their 2004 Literature Approach to U.S. and World History From the Civil War to Vietnam with this new course, titled Modern U.S. & World History. Covering roughly the same period (from 1850 to 2000), this guide brings students more up-to-date, while changing it from a two-year course to a one-year survey.

This one year study will take your student from Antebellum to modern day while covering the American Civil War, Reconstruction, Industrial Revolution, Turn of the Century, WWI, Communism, Socialism, Nazism, WWII, Korean War, Cold War, China's Cultural Revolution, Vietnam War, Civil Rights Movement, modern technology, and the War on Terror. Students will read some of the best literature available on this incredible and dynamic time period by renowned authors Harper Lee, Albert Marrin, Paul Johnson, Martin Gilbert, Harriet Beecher Stowe, Stephen Crane, Richard E. Kim, and more. Extensive study notes accompany each title with an emphasis on critical thinking, analysis, and writing. Literary analysis of several hallmark titles including To Kill A MockingbirdLost Names, and The Red Badge of Courage is also included. This study is recommended for 11th and 12th grade students.

Includes comprehensive study notes for each required book in the US and World Modern Pack, discussion questions, vocabulary, web links, answer key, writing assignments, and more!
