The books in this section are usually hardcover and in decent shape, though we'll sometimes offer hard-to-find books in lesser condition at a reduced price. Though we often put images of the book with their original dust jackets, the copies here won't always (or even often) have them. If that is important to you, please call ahead or say so in the order comments!

From the dust jacket:

The Sykes family lived in London and were half-English and half-Irish- American, which is probably the reason why it was so easy for them to get into trouble.

The Thames rose and fell against the river wall at the bottom of their garden and the whole family were constantly in and out of boats. Their strange adventure, which began with the purchase of a mysterious Dutch sailing boat, develops so naturally that it seems to be the kind that might wait round the corner for almost anybody.

Mrs. Mitchell writes from her own broad background and delightful experiences, shared with her own four children. They lived in just such a house on the Thames, enjoy adventuring in boats and have a generally good time together–as the Sykes family do.
