The tale of a dependable, reliable and helpful badger who realises that his old age will soon lead to death. After he has "gone down the long tunnel," his friends come to terms with his parting by remembering the wonderful gifts he has imparted to them. With full colour illustrations throughout.
Because grieving the loss of a friend is a pretty sad theme, this is not one we expect many children to want to read over and over. It is an enchanting book, but one that parents will probably appreciate more than the kiddos.
