Anne Molloy

Mrs. Molloy's first book for boys and girls (Coastguard To Greenland, Houghton Mifflin Co.) was published in 1942. Since then hardly a year has gone by that hasn't seen a new Molloy book published. Each one has been welcomed by young readers because this author knows how to write for them. In fact, her secret is—she knows them. She has had two children of her own, and for years she lived in a dormitory at Exeter Academy with her husband who is a teacher there. She received her education at Brimmer School in Boston and Mt. Holyoke College, and has travelled very extensively both abroad and in the United States.

Some of her best known books are: Decky's Secret, The Pigeoneers, Where Away? (Houghton Mifflin Co) and The Secret of the Old Salem Desk (Ariel). Captain Waymouth's Indians, however, is her first non-fiction work.
