Ranging from the Sumerians development of writing and the wheel in 3500 B.C. to the Fall of Rome in 476 A.D. this Timeline features 36 dated illustrations to help your student learn the colorful events of ancient times. Well-known characters such as Hammurabi, Akhenaten, King Solomon, Homer, Solon, Pythagoras, Hannibal, Cleopatra, Julius Caesar and many others take their place in relation to great historical events like the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius, the building of the Great Wall of China, the Birth of Christ, and the calculation of the circumference of the earth! Designed to aid students in understanding the chronology of historical events the Time Line will be a useful teaching tool as well as a fun project.

With its dated illustrations of significant events and individuals, students cut and color the detailed drawings and paste them on four 6" x 34" card-stock strips which are scored and able to fold for convenient storage in the student notebook. Many students will mount their completed timelines on the wall. When assembled this timeline will stretch to nearly twelve feet in length.
