A Game of Savvy Planning and Corporate Conquest

Publisher: Avalon Hill
Current Retail Price: $30.00

This Sid Sackson classic has taken many different forms over the years depending on the publisher. Each player strategically invests in businesses, trying to retain a majority of stock. As the businesses grow with tile placements, they also start merging, giving the majority stockholders of the acquired business sizable bonuses, which can then be used to reinvest into other chains. All of the investors in the acquired company can then cash in their stocks for current value or trade them 2-for-1 for shares of the newer, larger business. The game is a race to acquire the greatest wealth.

  One of the Classics

This is an "older" game in the modern board game world, and it has turned into one of the classics. Cutthroat game where you need to be bold, to bluff your opponents, and remember what they have done through the game. You need all your wits about you when you compete in this game.
Note: picture here shows the special anniversary edition, which is no longer available. There are no longer tall plastic building pieces.

Have you ever played monopoly with someone who thought that the game was too random? Or had to quit a game of Dominion after six hours and still not finished because someone got tired? Or gotten only halfway through Life before someone wanted to trade careers for the third time? This is the game to give that special someone for Christmas, or buy it now and use it on Thanksgiving. Its fun just to play, but if everyone wants to get competitive, you can do that too. This is one of my favorite games, possibly of all time but definitely top five.
