Welcome to the Eli Evans Family website,
kind of a behind-the-scenes documentary for Exodus Provisions.
Here you can learn more about the owners of Exodus and what
motivates them. This website is run by Eli's wife, Amanda, and
if it isn't updated often enough, she's the one to complain to!
About
Us
Our family began on March 19, 2005 when Eli
and I were joined in holy matrimony. Read
the story to find out how that came to
pass. While on our honeymoon we started a list of baby names and we hope to
someday have enough children to use all of those and
more! Since those early days, we've been gradually defining a
vision for this little unit in Christ's conquering army.
Right now our ideas are only in bud form, but someday, with the
Holy Spirit's help, they will mature into ripe and pleasant
fruit. It is our prayer that the seeds of this vision will
be planted deep in the hearts of our children and that they will
produce luscious fruit of their own.
Our Vision
But what does glorifying God and enjoying Him forever
look like in daily life? That's
what this website is about. At Exodus we sell books that
we hope will help
people live the good life, a life full of joy and in service to
the gracious Father in heaven. It sounds grand - much
like a pilgrimage to Jerusalem must have sounded to a devout
Medieval Christian. But most of the journey required
patience and diligent perseverance, trudging down long, dirty
roads even when the air was chill and feet were sore. In
the same way, our pilgrimage is about daily trodding the path
laid before our feet: smiling at the baby in the morning when
he's ready to get up about an hour before I am, happily loading
the dishwasher...again, changing my perfectly planned day to
accommodate someone else's need. It's about enjoying all
of God's good gifts - whether it's a hard day's work or a day of
Sabbath rest - and then giving Him all the glory.
We know that every family is different, but all that
are in subjection to the Triune God will have one thing in
common: joy. This will look different in every family, but we pray that the
things you read here will inspire you to live out the good life
in your own family. |
